"Whoever wants to play, come get a piece!"
— Lucy to a group of students in Lucy and the Mysterious Eye

Lucy is one of the eight main characters in Ninjala. She is an energetic and chaotic young girl who is currently training with the World Ninja Association as a student. Lucy possesses an unusual shinobi power that allows her to turn various metal objects into giant tendrils that she can control at will, as well as telekinesis to move objects with her mind. She initially hid this power before going to the WNA years later by her mother's request, where she began to accept and embrace her true self.

Appearance[]

Lucy is a fair-skinned girl with one blue eye on her left and a red eye on her right signifying her powers that she hides with a white eyepatch. She has long blue hair that she wears in large pigtails hold by spiked rings, and her hair is partially dyed with red highlights as the end of her pigtails and on her bangs. She has a single strand of hair that curves up on the top of her head.

Lucy wears what appears to be a pink crop top over a white shirt, with a large black star with a blue outline with a glossy finish placed to the left side of the chest. Her left arm has a skin-tight white fabric and black fishnets on it, while her right arm is sleeveless, while both arms feature stripped wristbands. She wears torn denim shorts with a pink belt, with a skin-tight white fabric and black fishnets covering her right leg. Her boots are a vivid blue with white laces and dark blue tongues with stars on each of them.

Before attending WNA Academy, Lucy wore a bright pink shirt with white-and-pink striped sleeves and decorated with black stars with blue outlines, dark blue jeans, and the same blue boots as her present day self. Her hair was not dyed, leaving it completely sky blue, and her pigtails were hold by thin light pink rings.

Personality[]

Lucy smile

Lucy is almost always sporting a large, cheerful smile on her face.

Lucy is described as loud, chaotic, unpredictable, and even crazy. She is very cheerful and charismatic, rarely ever losing the wide grin on her face and being very energetic and expressive. She is particularly violent and feral amongst the cast, laughing and screaming intimidatingly during battle and occasionally even howling like a wolf.

Prior to her powers awakening, Lucy was shown to be a simple cheerful and outgoing young girl that liked being with her friends, though a braver side of her was displayed as well, having stood up for her friends against a line-cutting troublemaker at the ice cream shop. After being traumatized by the awakening of her power, which caused her friends to distance themselves from her, Lucy emotionally shuts down and becomes stoic, distancing herself as much as possible from others to avoid hurting or frightening anyone else. This changes when she meets Chloe, who overtime helps Lucy become more cheerful. When her powers activate again to save Chloe from a speeding vehicle, Lucy temporarily spirals into a depression, believing herself to be a monster and running home in tears.

Lucy is shown to have an interest in art, having drawn a monster clutching a flower during Lucy and the Mysterious Eye, and drawing several flowers in a promotional image.

Lucy's powers manifest for the first time

Lucy was a normal schoolgirl who lived a relatively normal life; it is unknown where she lived prior to attending WNA Academy. One day while walking and eating ice cream with her friends, they ran into a pair of street punks, one of which had ice cream accidentally spilled on their shirt. As they assaulted the kids for the accident, Lucy's right eye turned red as her powers awakened suddenly and she trapped the punks in a mangle of metal bonds created from the street signs around her. Lucy prepared to attack them before she stopped at the sound of her friends' terrified shrieks, who called her a monster and ran away from her in fear.

Regretful and upset after this incident, Lucy became considerably more reserved and quiet, not wanting to scare or hurt anyone else in fear that her power would trigger again. She would wear a fake eye patch to hide her now-red right eye and begin to actively suppress her power.

Lucy meets Chloe after school

Lucy transfers into a new school and spends most of her time drawing by herself. As she sits alone in an empty classroom after school, sketching in her notebook, another new student, Chloe, introduces herself, remarking on her artistic talent and noting that they have both recently transferred to the school. Lucy reluctantly introduces herself as well, and the two gradually become friends over time. One day while walking home, Chloe claims Lucy to be her best friend, which Lucy takes comfort in. Chloe suggests visiting an ice cream parlor nearby, but Lucy refuses the offer, recalling the traumatic awakening event of her power. As the two part ways for the day, an incoming car loses control and speeds towards Chloe as she is crossing the street. Lucy's powers instinctively activate, using the street signs nearby to form a barricade that protects Chloe from the incoming vehicle.

Lucy rushes to check on Chloe, but stops when she overhears the negative chatter among the witnesses and witnesses a visibly shaken Chloe. Horrified and blaming herself for the distress, Lucy runs away in tears, believing she truly is the monster the crowd describes her to be. Later that day, Lucy's parents attempt to comfort her, and her mother reveals to Lucy that she had manifested the same powers as Lucy did when she was her age. She tells Lucy that they will be sending her to the WNA to train her new abilities, and encourages her to stay true to herself.

Lucy embraces her true self and takes on a new persona.

Lucy decides to fully embrace her powers and monster motif, converting to a new wild personality. She changes her appearance appropriately to a wilder, more punk-like look and takes a mangled stop sign as a weapon of choice, fully taking on her chaotic new persona and claiming that she is now exactly who she is supposed to be.

Powers and Abilities[]

Metal Manipulation[]

The aftermath of Lucy using her power to form a barricade of metal to shield Chloe

Lucy's unique power of the Shinobi gives her the ability to control various metal objects, such as metal beams and poles like those seen on street signs, by turning them into malleable tentacles that she can command and warp at will. Using these powers, she can entrap people in metal bonds or form barricades as shields, among other uses.

Lucy's red right eye, which she normally hides under an eyepatch, glows brightly whenever the ability is active. Her mother states that she also possessed this power, implying that it is passed down from parent to child across generations.

General Telekinesis[]

In Episode 26 of the TV anime, and more blatantly in Episode 38, it is revealed that Lucy's powers are not limited to only metal, but can be expanded to lift seemingly any object. In Episode 26, Lucy uses her power to hold a massive boulder up in midair, and then shatter it into pieces. Said boulder is not indicated to have had any metal inside of it, so it may be that Lucy was using her ability to take control of the rock itself. In Episode 38, Lucy uses her abilities to pick up and reorganize many non-metallic objects in a room, allowing her to quickly clean the space up.

Episode 54 shows the extent to which Lucy can wield this power. In this episode, she uses her abilities to take control over a body of water, creating a massive waterspout.

However, unlike her ferrokinetic abilities, Lucy is never shown to warp any of the non-metallic objects she takes control of, simply moving them around. Thus, it may be that while Lucy can move any object with her mind, she is only capable of warping metal into various different shapes.
